Blog Project 2 : Africa - Ethiopia

1. Ethiopia's Electric Power Export Growing - Minister

Summary :
 Ethiopia creates electric power, and this makes its economic benefits and the capacity to generate power. The power integration can strengthen other countries and increase the foreign currency earning because if the supplying of energy in other countries were stabilized, Ethiopia can consolidate social relationships of the countries. So, Minister said he will increase generating energy and supplying, transferring the energy to the other countries.

Persuasive (Reason why I chose) :
 At first, developing countries like Ethiopia are needed to support in energy supplying. But now, they can produce energy themselves, and even they supply energy to the other developing countries which need such energy. If we investigated Ethiopia, we can advance to a new market and there will be development of energy industry in developing countries. This can positively affect international energy.

2. Ethiopia: Reasons Ethiopian Coffee Export Market Declined 



Summary :
 Ethiopian coffee has great quality but exports have reduced 50% in last ten month. This because, disel fuel and labor price was increased, also coffee price was increased as a result. So, in Europe which is main market of Ethiopian coffee, consumer does not demand a little expensive Ethiopian coffee. So they decrease the price of coffee by controlling the regional security(tax).

Persuasive (Reason why I chose) :
 I heard the Ethiopian coffee is one of the best coffee in the world. So I searched about Ethiopian coffee but they have some problems like that. I think people who produce Ethiopian coffee bean excessively believe their coffee's quality, but consumer want both quality and price so there are some missing in the marketing. If they straightened the marking, Ethiopian coffee could recover its sales.

3. Ethiopian Sudani border Security tension flares again



Summary :
 There was a collision on the border lines between Sudan and Ethiopia, and some Sudanese soldiers were killed by Ethiopian force. Six were killed and 12 were captured. The reason why this clash was occurred is border line problem : border line is unmarked and they agreed with sharing border line, and some Sudanese was trained and armed like terrorist.

Persuasive (Reason why I chose) :
 From the old, there are many problems between neighboring countries. So I wondered there is problem like that in Ethiopia, but there is serious problems. According to the article, that collision was occurred by indistinctness of border line. I heard this happened by the European Great Power in the past : they decided frontier as a line without no awareness of culture, race, tribe etc. So, I think they should straighten the boundaries for their long term peace.
